The students were to dress up as wacky as they could for a gold coin donation.
Of course, Hurungaterangi 3 had *almost* full class participation. We joined the parade and although we didn't win in the costume department, we definitely won in the class-pride department.
Those who are wacky together, stay together. :D

First Aid Lesson
As a class, we learned 'the doctor's ABCDs' which is actually DRSABCD. This stands for
- Danger
- Response of the person
- Send for help
- Airway
- Breathing
- CPR
- Defibrillator
We found this lesson very helpful and perhaps we can even save a life one day!

Swim School
We had our first swim school session, and it was pretty amazing!
The students were allocated to specific lanes according to their ability and confidence in swimming. This allowed each and every student to extend their swim skills.
They say photos are a thousand words, here a a few thousands then. :)

Problem Challenge
As a (very long) warm up, we sometimes to problem solving questions to improve our number sense.
It can get quite noisy, but they are all engaged in mathematical conversations.
This is learning in action :)

Layers of the Earth
We are in the process of making a card that represents the layers of the Earth to investigate about the geosphere. By the end of the year, we will be experts on the 4 spheres of the Earth.
Visual Representation of the water cycle
Last week, we attempted to create our very own rain cloud. We have studied the hydrosphere previously and decided to make a visual representation of the water cycle.
Very simple, very fun.

Kahoot!
We had a whanau Kahoot quiz session on Wednesday Week 4.
The questions were a mixture of school rules, values, science, maths and literacy.
We found out that a whole whanau quiz was quite entertaining, as well as informative. Although this week Miss Kang created the quiz, the next Kahoot quiz will be created by students from the Hurungaterangi whanau.
